      GOSHIN WINS AT KEYSTONE GAMES

          Goshin was well represented at the Keystone Games on August 3rd at the Solomon-Plains Junior High in Plains, Pa. With about a dozen members competing Goshin brought home 17 medals plus the Male Outstanding Amateur Athletic Achievement Award.

                                                        Williamsport Dojo Winners:
          Master Ron Wright captured 3 medals and won the Out standing Athletic Achievement Award. He won a Gold in Weapons Forms, a Gold in Empty Hand Forms, and a Bronze in Sparring. All in the Adult Black Belt over 35 Division. 
          Paula Schall also won 3 medals in the Female Black Belt over 35 Division. She captured a Gold in Weapons Forms, A Gold in Empty Hand Forms and a Silver in Sparring.
          Jerry French won 3 medals ,too. In the over 55-59 Black Belt Male Division he won a Gold in Weapons Forms, A Silver  in Empty Hand Forms and another Gold in Sparring.
           Gary Stebbins won a Silver Medal in the over 35 Black Belt Division in Empty Hand Forms, which is quite an accomplishment for Gary since he has not competed in Forms in 10 years. 
             Rebecca  Eck despite an recent bout of sickness still made it to the competition and won! She won a Silver in the Young Adult Black Belt Division in Sparring.
              Codi Miller also competed in the Novice 6-9 Division. He took a Silver in Sparring.

Other Goshin Winners:

             John Mishansky of Dallas also competed. He won a Silver in Weapons Forms
and a  Bronze in Empty Hand Forms in the 16-19 Black Belt division. 


             For the Blacks' Dojo in Dushore, Pa  Jon Douglas won 2 Golds. One  in Weapons Forms and the other in Empty Hand Forms in 16-19 Brown Belt Division. Also from Dushore Dane Woodruff took a Bronze in Empty Hand Forms in the 6-9 Intermediate Belt Level.

An all around Clinic will be taught this year.
All participants will get a chance to Brush up on their Sparring techniques, their ability to express themselves during Kata, and a chance to learn some Weapons techniques. A must-do part of the clinic is  Power Chi Techniques personally instructed by Grand Master Brague. Don't miss out on this opportunity. The Fee is $25.00 for all registered members of GJKA. 
Bring your towels, water bottle, all weapons and sparring gear. Mostly an open mind - get ready to learn a lot.


Goshin History Update

Time is growing short. The Goshin History on CD-Rom will soon be available. All the newsletters, photos, news clippings, tournament flyers,and personal letters that represent GJKA during the 70's, 80's, 90's, and the new millenium have been collected as diligently as possible. If you have  any items you wish to be included contact the Masters Black BEFORE the Clinic. Any flyers or photos or personal items will be considered. Any pictures of former Black Belts or younger versions of todays Masters or Dans  would be greatly appreciated. Details on the CD will be available at the Clinic in September.
